Payment and Refund Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026.
Scope of the Policy and the Services It Covers
This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all commercial transactions conducted through the website operated by spotlumy. The services covered include professional training courses focused on media feeds, encompassing video operation techniques, live signal management, content distribution strategies, camera work fundamentals, and the creation of reliable high-quality feeds for news programmes and television broadcasting. All bookings, whether for individual modules, full programmes, or bundled access, fall under this policy. The policy governs payments made by individuals and organisations located in the United Kingdom and explains the rights and obligations that arise when purchasing these educational services.
Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Additional Charges
All listed prices are shown in British pounds sterling. Value added tax at the prevailing UK rate is included in the displayed price for consumers. Corporate clients may receive invoices showing VAT separately where applicable under UK tax rules. No hidden fees apply to standard course access. However, optional extras such as extended certification, additional live sessions or printed materials may incur separate charges that will be clearly itemised before payment is authorised. Currency conversion fees charged by the customer’s card issuer remain the responsibility of the purchaser and are not controlled by spotlumy.
Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation and Security
Payments are accepted via major credit and debit cards, bank transfers for corporate invoices, and approved third-party payment platforms that comply with UK financial regulations. When a payment is submitted, an authorisation hold is placed on the chosen method. Full processing occurs once the booking is confirmed. All transactions are secured using industry-standard encryption and comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. spotlumy does not store card details on its systems; these are handled exclusively by the payment processor.
Order Confirmation and Contract Formation
A binding contract is formed when spotlumy sends an email confirmation that the booking has been accepted. This confirmation follows successful payment authorisation and contains details of the purchased course, start dates, access credentials and cancellation rights. Until this confirmation is received, no contract exists and any provisional reservation may be released without liability. Customers should retain the confirmation email as proof of the agreement.
Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, consumers in the United Kingdom have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of contract formation during which they may cancel without giving a reason. For digital course content that begins immediately upon access, the right to cancel is lost once the consumer has started to access the materials, provided they have given prior express consent to this effect. Corporate bookings and services scheduled to commence within the cooling-off period are subject to the same statutory rules, with clear notification provided at the point of purchase.
Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items
Refunds are available for cancellations made within the statutory cooling-off period where the service has not yet commenced. Once course materials have been accessed or live sessions attended, refunds are not provided except in cases of documented technical failure attributable to spotlumy. Promotional or discounted bookings, gift certificates and third-party certification fees are non-refundable. No refunds are issued for partial course completion or changes in personal circumstances after the cooling-off period has expired.
Procedure and Information Required to Request a Refund
To request a refund, the customer must submit a written request via the contact form on the website or by emailing [email protected]. The request must include the booking reference number, full name, date of purchase, and a clear statement of the reason for cancellation. Requests received by post to Holmbush Road, Putney, London SW15 3LE, United Kingdom or by telephone on +44 7575 701535 will also be accepted provided the same information is supplied. Incomplete requests may delay processing until all required details are received.
Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification of the Refund Decision
Upon receipt of a complete request, spotlumy will acknowledge it within five working days. The request will be reviewed against the eligibility criteria set out in this policy. Customers will be notified of the decision by email within ten working days. If approved, the refund will be processed. If rejected, the email will explain the specific reason and outline any available options for appeal or alternative resolution.
Refund Method, Processing Time and Receipt of Funds
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method used for the purchase. Processing by spotlumy occurs within seven working days of approval. The time taken for funds to appear in the customer’s account depends on the payment provider and may range from three to fourteen additional working days. Bank transfers for corporate clients are initiated within the same timeframe and confirmation of transfer is supplied by email.
Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions and Promotional Offers
Digital course content is delivered electronically. Once access credentials are issued and the consumer begins streaming or downloading materials, the cancellation right is waived as permitted by law. Subscription-based access renews automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date; notice of at least seven days is required to prevent the next billing cycle. Promotional offers are subject to their own terms stated at the time of purchase and may carry shorter or no cooling-off periods where expressly indicated.
Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Suspected Fraud
In the event of a failed payment, the booking will be placed on hold and the customer notified. Duplicate charges detected by the payment processor are automatically reversed within forty-eight hours. Customers who initiate a chargeback without first contacting spotlumy may have future bookings refused. Any suspected fraudulent activity will be reported to the relevant authorities in accordance with UK law and may result in immediate account suspension pending investigation.
Mandatory Consumer Rights That Cannot Be Excluded
Nothing in this policy affects the statutory rights of consumers under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 or the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. These rights include the right to receive services with reasonable care and skill, the right to a refund where services are not as described, and the right to redress for misleading practices. Any term that attempts to exclude these rights is void.
Contact Route, Policy Changes and Last-Updated Date
Questions regarding this policy should be directed to [email protected], +44 7575 701535 or the postal address Holmbush Road, Putney, London SW15 3LE, United Kingdom. spotlumy reserves the right to amend this policy to reflect changes in law or business practice. Any material changes will be communicated by email to existing customers and published on the website with a new last-updated date. Continued use of the site after such publication constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
